ISSCC in Hamilton
An International Summer School for Choral Leaders (ISSCC) was held at Waikato University, Sunday 4 January 2009 to Friday 9 January 2009. It was a further opportunity to brush up on choral skills. Organ Concert, Putaruru
Some of you may have already seen our publicity, but I am pleased to confirm that Rachael Griffiths Hughes, well known to all of us, will play the Viscount Prestige 60 organ at St Aidans Presbyterian Church, Overdale St, Putaruru on Sunday May 3 at 3pm. Pieces we will have the privilege of hearing include:
1. Fanfare N.J. Lemmens (1823 - 1881)
2. Sonata No.6 in d minor F. Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847)
3. 3 Clock pieces F.J. Haydn (1732 - 1809)
4. Mein junges Leben hat ein End' J.P. Sweelinck (1562-1621)
5. Concerto in d minor BWV 596 J.S. Bach (1685 - 1750) (after Op. 3 No.11 by Vivaldi)
6. Pavane G. Fauré (1845 - 1924)
7. Nimrod from Enigma Variations E. Elgar (1857 - 1934)
8. Sortie in Bb L. Lefébure-Wély (1817 - 1869)
