Training & Courses

This section provides information on training schemes offered by RSCM New Zealand.

Every year there is a winter choir school for younger choristers (usually ages range from 9 to 19 ) It is organised by Wellington Branch and located at an attractive venue (usually St Matthew's Collegiate) in the Wairarapa's Masterton town - this is located 90 minutes north east of Wellington, NZ's capital city. (Refer to Winter Schools page for more details  and contact information).

Every year summer schools (usually residential) are held in most member countries: participants from overseas may attend those in the United Kingdom or other countries.

New Zealand and Australia hold their own summer schools independently; but, on occasions, the two nations combine (a combined school is to be held at Adelaide, Australia, in Jan 2010). Summer Schools are open regardless of age, but, usually targeted at participants who are 15 years-of-age and over.

NZ Winter Schools are usually held in the first week of Term 2 school holidays (July) under the auspices of RSCM NZ Branch Wellington.

RSCM NZ also provides the Voice for Life training scheme, with its graded musical material.  Skills courses are to be introduced.
